Applegreen Navan creates 50 new jobs
Ireland’s Forecourt and Convenience Retailer gets a behind the scenes tour of the new Applegreen at Navan Retail Park, Co. Meath
With one service station currently located at Kentstown Road in Navan, the new service station is conveniently located on the Northern Link Road which connects north Navan to the M3 motorway and caters for 34,000 cars every day. The site sits on the Bohermeen roundabout at the Navan Retail Park entrance.
The services at the new station include 6 pump forecourt, a shop and Applegreen’s own brand food offering The Bakewell. As well as this the site houses a Burger King including a drive thru, Subway, Splitz ice-cream, brush and jet wash facilities, indoor seating area for over 100 people and a new unique garden seating area, sheltered children’s play area, truck stop and parking for 53 vehicles.
“This new site is a prime location for us,” reveals Aaron Duggan, Head of Services Area Retail and Food Operations for Applegreen.
“It is ideally placed close to the retail park for lots of trade away from the congestion of the main roads.
“I think our success is going to be down to the location and the fact that we cater for everyone, from customers who are just looking a quick stop, a bite to eat and to use the facilities, to those who maybe want to relax and rest up for a while, get something to eat and enjoy the children’s play area.
“We can cater for all the different time schedules in the local area and there is something in this site to suit all kinds of individual tastes and needs.”
“We have had strong feedback from the Tara Mines area specifically on how good it is to have the facility so close by. For example, even something simple like having an ATM close by, meaning they no longer have to travel into the town, is proving a big draw!
“The site has created more than 50 new jobs in the local area and most of the employees are from the Navan area. We got a really high number of great high calibre of candidates applying for all the posts. and applying in high numbers.
Looking at the successes of the site Aaron feels staff are a huge contributing factor.
“Our staff ensure customers get the most from their visit regardless of how long they visit for. They are on hand to go that extra mile and ensure all the customers’ needs are catered for.
“They have really embraced the area and put their heart and soul into their jobs.
“So far footfall has far exceeded all expectations. I think customers like that we have a really good mix of quality food brands in the site, and that’s a huge part of what’s bringing people in.
“The site looks fantastic and we are delighted with it. We look forward to welcoming new and returning customers to our Navan site”.
