Supermac’s to open first Donegal store

Supermac’s has announced plans to open its first fast-food outlet in Donegal in August creating 60 jobs in the community.

The newest addition to the Supermac’s estate will be located in Donegal town. The outlet will be operated as a franchise by existing franchisee Ken Foley who also operates the franchise for the outlet on the Bundoran Road in Sligo and will include a convenience store and attached forecourt.

The food-to-go chain – who will celebrate 40 years in business in 2018 – vowed in January to create 400 jobs with six new restaurants. Outlets in Balbriggan, Co Dublin, Naas, Co Kildare, and Ballyvollane in Co Cork have already opened while two others in Co Cork – Tivoli and Bandon Road – will officially open in the coming weeks.

Supermac’s M.D. Pat McDonagh said that the new store openings were being driven by customer demand. “The success of our Fresh range of fresh, never frozen, beef and chicken has meant that we are opening several new outlets throughout the country to meet customer demand with more planned later in the year.”
