Creightons of Balmoral opens creating 50 new jobs

Creightons’ new hyper-modern store in the Balmoral area of Belfast has opened creating 50 new jobs for the area.

The 6,000 sq ft EUROSPAR store is located on South Belfast’s Upper Lisburn Road.

Owners Niall Creighton and Gail Boyd also own and operate EUROSPAR Creightons of Finaghy and SPAR Creightons of Blacks Road, also in the south of the city.

The family have been operating since the 1930s, already employing over 100 of staff. They joined the Henderson Group network of stores in 2005.

Speaking at Thursday’s launch, Niall Creighton said: “We are delighted to open EUROSPAR Creightons of Balmoral, which brings not only a wealth of new services and convenience to the area, but also employment opportunities for our local community; in opening the store, we created 50 new full and part time roles from customer service to deli staff.

“We have a wealth of experience in retail having traded for over 80 years in Northern Ireland, and our links with the Henderson Group only make us a stronger business. We have been part of their retailer network for 11 years, and this latest store in our portfolio is testament to the support gained from their retail services team, in terms of assisting in the planning of the layout of the new store; merchandising and IT services.”

Being part of the Henderson Group also enables the store to access Henderson’s wholesale offering which boasts an abundance of local food ranges, including the wholesaler’s own-brand range, enjoy local, made up of 144 products from 25 local suppliers.

EUROSPAR Creightons of Balmoral will feature new services such as Creightons Barista coffee service, where an expert barista member of staff will serve tea and freshly ground coffee.

New deli and hot food-to-go facilities have been installed at the new store, selling an extensive range of on-the-go breakfast and lunch options including a hot fry, sandwiches, salad boxes, hot lunches and Sunday dinners, freshly prepared on site by dedicated staff.

Country Kitchen Bakery and Eglantine Farm, both based in Lisburn, are included in a long list of the store’s local suppliers, while Creightons in-store butchery unit and bakery will provide fresh, pre-packed meats, breads and bakery products daily.

Shoppers can also avail of a BP fuel forecourt, two ATMs, Lotto facilities, onsite store parking and customer toilets.
