World Cup winner and one of the greatest rugby players to ever perform the Haka, Sean Fitzpatrick, is joining a cast of international and local speakers for what will be one of Ireland’s biggest conferences this year.

The programme for the Ireland’s Forecourt & Convenience Summit 2016 has been revealed, featuring huge figures in international retailing.

Some 450 delegates from the world of neighbourhood, convenience and forecourt retailing are expected to attend on September 15 at the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel in Dublin.

Taking place in Dublin’s DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel, delegates are keenly anticipating keynote speaker Sean Fitzpatrick’s firebrand speech on leadership.

Assisted by Platinum Sponsor Nestle Professional, the Summit will provide insight, innovation, and inspiration to core figures in local retail.

Other speakers headlining the event include Joe Bona, one of the United States’ most respected thinkers in retail design, and the mind behind many of the stunning designs that dominate the modern day marketplace.

As former President of the Branded Environments Practice at CBX, his credits range from the renewal of the Rite Aide Pharmacy Chain in the US, to a new flagship for Sak’s Fifth Avenue Department store in Houston, Texas.

Ilyas Munshi, commercial director of Euro Garages, will also be providing insight into how he helped deliver record turnover of £815.6m in 2015, growing the brand to 341 petrol forecourts across the UK.

The conference also features Mike Murphy, Senior Vice President of US convenience chain QuickChek. Mike made headline across the US in December, after working his 40th straight Christmas Day. His legendary dedication will surely be a topic of discussion, as will the innovative success of QuickCheck, which is using high-tech solutions to grow its huge New Jersey and New York customer base.

The spectacular skills of BBC mind-reader and former university lecturer David Meade will surely be a highlight, as he provides an entertaining and brain-boggling take on retail strategies and motivation.

RGData director general Tara Buckley also addresses delegates during the day on the role of local retail’s ‘Local Heroes’, while respected writer and broadcaster Matt Cooper will host.

Uniquely combining three huge events into one day, the Ireland’s Forecourt & Convenience Summit will be a mine of information for the full spectrum of local retail, with its focused trade exhibition featuring some of the world’s leading retail service providers and suppliers.

The remarkable day – which also includes a light breakfast and lunch – concludes with the annual Ireland’s Forecourt & Convenience Retailer Awards 2016, where the stars of the industry assemble in a celebration of excellence for Ireland’s retail and forecourt sector.

Commenting on the launch of the 2016 Summit organiser Bill Penton said: “This will be an event on a different magnitude than seen thus far in the domestic fuel retail and convenience sector. It’s a huge opportunity for everyone in the industry, and will be unrivaled for its scope and content.”

David Allan from Platinum Sponsor Nestle Professional added: “While we are raising awareness for the brand, putting our name to the Ireland’s Forecourt & Convenience Summit 2016 seemed a logical step. We have seen a good rate of return from our work with IF&CR magazine over the last two years, so we knew that joining as lead sponsor would be the ideal next step for the brand.”
