Musgrave NI announces two senior appointments
Musgrave NI has appointed John McGinnity as its new head of wholesale and foodservice and David Higgins as its new retail sales director.
Higgins, who has over 20 years of experience in FMCG is joining the food retail, wholesale and foodservice company from Diageo.
He previously worked with Diageo in a number of roles, including head of strategic accounts, before his most recent position, as head of spirits.
In this new position as retail sales director, Higgins will oversee the development of retail partnership models across Northern Ireland, specifically for the SuperValu, Centra and Mace brands.
Mr McGinnity’s new role as head of wholesale and foodservice comes after 17 years in the company in various trading and sales roles. Most recently, he was head of specialist and world food sales for Musgrave’s wholesale partners across the Republic of Ireland.
He takes over the role from Richard Mayne, who is moving to director of beverage within wholesale and foodservice for Musgrave Group. In his new role, Richard Mayne will be responsible for leading the beverage business across the island of Ireland.
On the new appointments, managing director of Musgrave Northern Ireland, Trevor Magill, said, “With our ambitious plans to grow our retail store network, as well as expand our footprint across the foodservice and wholesale sectors, I am delighted to welcome David and John to the Musgrave NI business.
“We recently announced our £1.2 billion impact on the local economy, and I am confident that the experience that David and John bring will ensure we continue to remain a positive force here in Northern Ireland.
“I would also like to wish Richard the very best in his new role.”
