Leon Drive Thru first for EG Group since buyover

The EG Group has announced plans for its first drive-thru Leon restaurant since the company bought over the healthy fast food chain for £100m in the UK (the deal did not include the Leon franchise in Ireland).

It’s the first of its type – with more drive-thru Leon outlets expected later in the year.

The first Leon drive-thru will open in West Yorkshire and follows the healthy fast-food chain’s acquisition by Euro Garages in April.

“Our investment in Leon, together with our unparalleled operational experience of drive-thrus and access to high-quality roadside locations through our forecourts, creates new opportunities for the company and a strong platform to deliver significant growth,” said the EG Group entrepreneurs Mohsin and Zuber Issa.

The company said the site will be the “first of many” drive-thru locations planned for the year as EG pushes forward with its plans to expand the brand further across the UK. Leon currently runs more than 70 restaurants in the UK.
