FSAI to Host Webinar on The Safe Catering Pack

FSAI to Host Webinar on The Safe Catering Pack

The Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) continues its 2022 ‘Breakfast Bite’ webinars, a series of free, informal virtual meetings for food businesses.

The next webinar in the series: ‘The Safe Catering Pack – Your Food Safety Management System’ will be held on Wednesday, 30 March 2022 from 10:00am – 10:45am.

Participants will hear FSAI colleagues Dr Lisa O’Connor and Carol Heavy, alongside Gwen Basse (HSE) outline the best use of the FSAI’s Safe Catering Pack, which consists of a workbook and record books. They will also discuss new guidance on allergen and acrylamide controls. The webinar is free of charge and there will be an opportunity for participants to ask questions following the presentation.

Designed for caterers, retailers who have a catering function in their business and other food businesses as an easy-to-use and practical food management safety system, the Safe Catering Pack helps businesses to:

  • Identify what can go wrong at all stages of your food operation
  • Put controls in place to stop it from going wrong
  • Know what to do if it does go wrong

While ideal for food businesses that are in the process of finalising their own food safety management system, the Safe Catering Pack can also further develop and enhance existing systems. It is available to order from the FSAI website.

Encouraging people to sign up for the Breakfast Bite webinar, Dr Pamela Byrne, CEO, FSAI said: “Using the Safe Catering Pack will help caterers and other food businesses to produce food safely, comply with food hygiene regulation and train staff while protecting your business’ reputation. The webinar will outline how to effectively use the Safe Catering Pack and discuss the new sections which focus on allergen and acrylamide controls. We believe this webinar will be of benefit to any food business, whether you are still developing your own food safety management system or have an existing system in place.”
