Topaz Dublin airport wins major award

One of Topaz’s flagship service stations, Topaz Dublin airport, has won a major award for its fresh food.

The company’s new retail food and coffee offering, Re.Store, overcame competition from throughout the country to claim the Best Food-To-Go Award at this year’s Best in Fresh Awards.

The ceremony at the Shelbourne Hotel in Dublin heard the judges were full of praise for the quality of the food on offer.

“Even though this is a forecourt, no shortcuts were taken with regard to its fresh food offering – product knowledge, presentation and range were all excellent”.

Sean Moriarty, retail director at Topaz said he was delighted for all the team at Dublin Airport who have worked so hard to make the site the success it is since it opened in January last year.

“Our aim with Re.Store is to make our stations chosen destinations for the best food and coffee offering around.

“We know our customers want a wide choice of fresh, healthy and wholesome food and that is why Re.Store is a winning formula. Earlier this month our newly opened M8 motorway site at Ballacolla in Co Laois – which also features a Re.Store – was awarded the NACS Insight 2015 International Convenience Retailer of the Year Award.”

“This is also the second major award for the Dublin Airport site.”

Mr Moriarty added: “In October last year it was crowned Ireland’s Forecourt and Convenience Retailer’s Store of the Year. Given that the site only opened 18 months ago, enormous credit is due to manager Elaine Brennan and her team.”

Services on offer at the site, which was redeveloped at a cost of €3m, include barista coffee, a cafe, hot food deli, Wi-Fi internet access, EV charger and car wash.

Attention now turns to this year’s Ireland’s Forecourt and Convenience Retailer Awards, which take place on September 11.
