Top Oil sponsor record-breaking Ploughing Championships

Top Oil has said it is “extremely proud” after sponsoring this year’s National Ploughing Championships in Co Laois.

The event – the largest outdoor event of its type in Europe – returned to Ratheniska for three days in September, along with a record breaking 281,000 visitors, with Top Oil sponsoring the Road Signs aspect of the competition.

Top Oil marketing manager Jason Power said he was “thrilled” to be so positively associated with such a prestigious and iconic Irish event.

“Top Oil has been serving quality assured fuel products to the local communities of Ireland for over 200 years, so when we were offered the opportunity to work with the 84th National Ploughing Championships as their official Fuel Partner we agreed instantly, as this partnership works perfectly for Top Oil and we got to meet thousands of Ploughing visitors over the course of the three days.

“The Ploughing gave us a fantastic opportunity to boost our Top Oil ‘Fueling Ireland’ brand, meet so many of our loyal customers, as well as developing relationships with new Top Oil business partners.”

Mr Power said the company received hundreds of orders for home heating oil, motor, commercial and agri-fuels at the championships.

“Visitors that dropped by our Top Oil stand were entered into free competitions, with an opportunity to win fantastic fuel prizes and received loads of free Top Oil merchandise. They also got deals on their fuel and everybody enjoyed plenty of craic.”

As part of the sponsorship deal, over 100 Top Oil ‘Ploughing’ road signs were erected at various locations around the country’s road network to promote the event.

Top Oil is a family-owned Irish business with a 200 year trading history. It owns and manages its own 55,000 tonne import terminal in Dublin, and sells over 1.3 billion litres of fuel throughout Ireland and Northern Ireland, every year.
