SuperValu and AsIAm to hold ‘Autistic Women and Girls’ Online Seminar to mark International Women’s Day

AsIAm and SuperValu’s 2021 Webinar Series continues with a focus on women and girls living with autism.

With International Women’s Day just around the corner AsIAm, proudly supported by SuperValu, are delighted to continue their series of webinars with ‘Autistic Women and Girls’ on 10th March at 7pm. International Women’s Day celebrates the achievements of women and to mark the occasion AsIAm and SuperValu will host an online seminar that will explore the experiences of women and girls within the autism community. The webinar will be the fourth in the 2021 series that continues to bring informative topics and valuable advice to the autism community. The community support events are delivered by autism experts and can be accessed online and through AsIAm and SuperValu’s social channels. Autism awareness

In recent years there has been increased awareness of the lack of support for autistic women in terms of access, diagnosis, cases of misdiagnosis and the lack of recognition of these experiences. The upcoming webinar will view autism through this lens and will be hosted by Jess Hendrickx, Head of Hendrickx Associates where she supports autistic people to build self-awareness, identify their goals and take small, manageable steps towards achieving them.

The seminar will look at the different ways autism manifests in women and girls such as masking, late Diagnosis, eating Disorders, and other female related issues.
