Sunmagic launches healthy drink trio

Juice producer Sunmagic is launching three new ranges as it continues to add breadth to the healthy soft drinks category with products which tap into the latest consumer trends such as low calorie and low sugar drinks, and coconut water.

The new healthy ranges are available in Iceland stores nationally from this week in more than 500 outlets, and comprise Sunmagic: 250ml Cold-Pressed HPP Smoothie range; Coconut Water which comes in a 1ltr Elopak pack; and 1ltr Low Calorie and Low Sugar Juice Drink range.

Sunmagic’s 250ml Cold-Pressed high pressure processing (HPP)) Smoothie range comes in Carrot & Mango and Beetroot & Berry. The smoothies use a cutting-edge high pressure processing to produce maximum nutrient retention, extending the shelf life from seven to 45 days.

Each 250ml PET bottle contains two of the recommended five-a-day.

Sunmagic Coconut Water comes in a 1ltr Elopak format and has an RRP of £1.75 per pack. The Coconut Water is NFC (not from concentrate) and taps into many of the latest category trends, offering consumers a healthy, natural drink which is rich in nutrients and lower in calories and sugar than juices.

The final range is Sunmagic’s 1ltr Low Calorie and Low Sugar juice drinks which are available in four delicious flavours including Tropical Juice Drink, Orange & Mango Juice Drink, Caribbean Juice Drink and Summer Fruits Juice Drink, and with an RRP of 59p it offers great value. The drinks are a response to the growing sugar debate, offering consumers healthier options. They come in a 1ltr Elopak format and like all Sunmagic drinks, are designed to be stored in the chiller department.

Razin Ali, Sunmagic’s brand manager, said: “We are delighted to be reinforcing our current range by launching these three new product ranges to the market, all of which appeal to the current and growing trend for healthy soft drinks which also deliver on quality and taste. Our ranges offer great value and offer very competitive price points to appeal to both the retailer and consumer.

“The launches provide many firsts for us: it is the first time Sunmagic has had a listing in Iceland, a retailer enjoying healthy growth and eager to continue to offer new innovative products to its customers. It is also the first time Sunmagic has had a Coconut Water in its portfolio, bringing an extra dimension to the range and broadening Sunmagic’s appeal even further. Feedback in trade has already been phenomenal; we are now very much looking forward to hearing consumer feedback on the ranges, too.”

Sunmagic has recently won new listings with One Stop, Roadchef, Selecta and Krispy Kreme. The brand is now one of the most widely distributed 100% pure fruit juice, functional 2-a-day smoothie and juice drink brands in the UK, with a current retail sales value of £24m. The Sunmagic brand has 22 one-litre variants available to all trade channels as well as 13 500ml variants.
