Smokin’ Bean coffee launches exclusively in Tesco stores

The coffee-on-the-go stations will be available in 103 Tesco Ireland stores by the end of September.

Tesco Ireland is delighted to welcome Smokin’ Bean coffee stations to 103 stores nationwide. The on-the-go coffee stations are currently in 83 stores, with the other 20 to be installed by the end of September.

Smokin’ Bean is a premium, self-serve café destination dispensing barista quality in seconds from sophisticated bean-to-cup coffee machines. The coffee is served in Vegware takeaway cups which are made from plants using renewable, lower carbon, recycled or reclaimed materials, and designed to be commercially compostable with food waste, where accepted.

The coffee beans are ethically sourced from Fairtrade cooperatives in Peru and Mexico. They are 100% Arabica, triple certified whole beans with notes of vanilla, caramelised sugar and hints of citrus which all adds up to great tasting coffee.

John Brennan, Fresh Food Category Director, Tesco Ireland said “Our partnership with Smokin’ Bean allows us to fulfil a requirement we know our shoppers have. We are delighted to work with Smokin’ Bean to install coffee docks in 103 stores across the country and hope our customers enjoy the fantastic triple-certified, Fairtrade coffee.”

Edwin Addson, Sales Director, Capitol Food Limited added: “We are delighted that Tesco decided to go with the Smokin’ Bean brand. We are confident that both Tesco and their customers will love the quality, 100% organic Arabica beans that we are so proud of.”

The new coffee stations will see eight speciality drinks available to customers, medium cups €2.60 and large €2.99, which can be paid for at the checkout. The area will also see different offers available when pairing coffee with Broderick’s bars – currently Smokin’ Bean coffee and Broderick’s bar for €3.50.
