RGDATA highlights retailer concerns at Enterprise Forum

Enterprise Minister Simon Coveney chaired the latest meeting of the Enterprise Forum at the Department of Enterprise Trade & Employment. The Forum discussed TBESS, Brexit and Energy Supports for Businesses. RGDATA Director General Tara Buckley told the Minister that RGDATA’s Crime Survey showed that 95% of independent retailers and their staff were victims of crime on a daily basis. She called for an interdepartmental approach to juvenile crime and anti-social behaviour. Buckley also highlighted ongoing increases in business costs including insurance and the need for a scheme to support shop owners to provide affordable accommodation for retail workers in town and city centres.
