Retail Consultation Forum meets with Minister English
Minister for Retail Damien English told a meeting of the Retail Consultation Forum that the Government’s plans around the safe reopening of retail for the Christmas period will be announced on Thursday 26th November. He circulated a draft communications plan concerning the messaging around safe shopping and shopping local at Christmas. RGDATA has said it will revert with comments on this draft. Currently the Level 5 Lockdown restrictions are due to end at midnight on December 1 and non-essential shops will be allowed to open.
Ongoing Brexit concerns
The Retail Consultation Forum will meet every until December 31 to deal with issues arising regardding both Brexit and Covid 19. RGDATA Director General Tara Buckley, as a member of the Forum, can raise any issues of concern to members.
She recommends that members should download the RGDATA App to ensure they keep up to date on all communications from RGDATA and all the relevant news and messaging from Government regarding Covid-19 and Brexit.
