Re-Turn Announces Retailer Handling Fees for collecting deposit and dealing with returns
| Re-Turn Ireland has announced the retailer fees that will be paid to retailers for collecting and paying out deposits and taking back in scope plastic beverage bottles and cans. The fee for retailers that buy or lease Reverse Vending Machines will be 0.022c per in scope bottle or can and for retailers who operate manual handling systems the fee will be 0.026c per in scope container.
Shops with a retail area up to 150sq meters may be eligible to opt out of handling returns. All retailers who sell in scope beverage plastic bottles and cans must register with the scheme. The scheme will go live in February 2024. Full details available here.
