New service station to be built in Oylegate to Rosslare Harbour motorway project
A state of the art service station is to be built as part of the new M11 extension from Oylegate to Rosslare Harbour.

A survey is to be carried out to establish the optimal location for a service area and what exactly that would consist of.

It is thought that the service station would be similar to the Gorey Services off the M11 and would also offer parking for HGVs bound for ferries at Rosslare Europort.

Project manager Sean Dobbs said the provision of parking at a dedicated services area would remove ongoing issues with HGV parking at Rosslare Harbour and Kilrane.

Cllr Frank Staples expressed concerns for existing service stations along the route.

“There are two busy services stations already on the route from the Rosslare Roundabout to Killinick,” he said.

“I’d be interested to hear how this will be done and will it be done in consultation with those businesses.”

Mr Dobbs said they would have to look at national policy on service areas, as well as EU regulations for drivers etc before deciding on its location.
