Maxol announces growth plans

Ireland’s largest family owned forecourt and convenience retailer – in business for over a century – plans to expand throughout Ireland via the acquisition of established convenience forecourt stores and the purchase of land adjoining existing sites to improve facilities and services.

A report in the Petrol Retailers Association (PRA) newsletter, said the company was at an advanced stage of negotiations to acquire sites and parcels of land across the country.

CEO Brian Donaldson said “Our five year plan is to continue to evolve our business nix further, reducing our reliance on fossil fuel revenues by focusing on key categories for coffee, food-to-go and grocery.”

The growth plans will see an investment of around one hundred million euro. The company also plans to introduced tech such as contactless payment for car washes.
