Government proposal to ban flavors for adult vapers – an update for retailers.
As a retailer, you may have heard that the Government is proposing changes to the rules and regulations around vaping. As a retailer who sells to some of the 400,000 adult vapers in Ireland, this will directly impact you.
The Government is proposing to restrict vaping flavors to only tobacco. Adult vapers know that vaping can play a key role in smoking cessation, and for many, the variety of flavors is an important part of that process.
Secondly, the Government has announced in the Budget that a new tax on vaping products will be introduced next year, meaning that a bottle of 10ml liquid could rise from €5 to €11.23.
While vapes will become more expensive due to the vaping tax, we expect the implementation of tax stamps on vapes will ensure that illegitimate / illegal imports are eliminated from the market.
