| Dealing with serial shop lifters can be difficult but the Garda and RGDATA are on the case.
RGDATA Director General Tara Buckley participated in a second meeting of the sub group of the Garda Rural Forum to hear a presentation about a successful scheme operating in Belfast that targets serial shoplifters and excludes them from shops and certain areas of the city. The sub group includes representatives from the Gardai; the Department of Justice and retail representatives and is exploring if a similar scheme could be operated throughout the country. |
