Corrib Oil, one of Ireland’s leading service station and energy providers, officially re-opened its Castlebar store on Friday, 28th February.
The store, located at Humbert Way, Ring Road, re-opened in November after a six-week refurbishment.
The site features a number of high-profile Irish and international retail offerings including Spar, Insomnia Coffee and a brand-new concession with Zambrero, the global fast-food chain offering feel-good Mexican food. The new store also includes an on-site oil office, where customers can order their home heating oil while in-store.
Part of the Corrib network since 2001, the Castlebar site supports 44 jobs in the locality. A number of long-serving staff at the store performed the official ribbon-cutting ceremony. Corrib Oil marked the official re-opening with in-store offers throughout the day and lots of prize giveaways.
Announcing the official re-opening, Gillian Morris, Head of Retail, Corrib Oil said it is good news for Castlebar and Mayo. She said:
“We’re excited to be officially re-opening our Castlebar store. We have been growing our retail footprint over recent years, reflecting our firm focus on meeting the fuel, retail, home heating and food needs of local communities.
“The refurbishment of this site underscores the scale of our commitment. Working with partners like BWG, we’re committed to offering an enhanced and expanded service to all our customers, both here in Castlebar and across the country.
“Our Oil Office is open from Monday to Friday 9am – 6pm and Saturday 9am– 4pm to take home heating oil orders in person or customers can order online at www.corriboil.com 24/7, 365 days a year. Jason Kelly, our oil office manager, and his team are on hand to support our local customers and their home heating requirements.”
Manager of Corrib Oil’s Castlebar store, Sean Ryan, added:
“This store supports 44 jobs locally, who are proud to be part of a dynamic, fast-growing, community-based business. Many of those team members have been with us for many years, and it’s a great honour that some of our long-standing Castlebar staff got to cut the ribbon last Friday.”
Corrib Oil Expansion
Earlier in February Corrib Oil announced plans to more than double its nationwide store presence to 100 by 2030, creating 1,200 new jobs across the country. That announcement came just weeks after Corrib announced a franchise partnership with quick-service restaurant brand, Wendy’s®. The Wendy’s® partnership will bring 10 new quick-service restaurants to Ireland over the next two years, adding to Corrib’s growing retail and dining offerings. These sites will be a blend of standalone Wendy’s restaurants as well as new Wendy’s® offerings at existing Corrib service station locations.
Corrib Oil, founded in 1987, currently employs 1,150 people, and has 38 service station stores across 17 counties.
It also has a residential and commercial fuel business. The business has recently invested in a new online ordering platform to provide another channel for customers to order domestic home heating oil and gas. This investment enables customers to order online 24/7, 365 days a year ensuring that they never run out of oil. This is the first of many digital enhancements Corrib Oil is rolling out to support customers across the business.
