Applegreen Lisburn Northbound creates 120 jobs

Irish motorway service area operator, Applegreen, has announced its sixth site and third Motorway Service Area in Northern Ireland, creating 120 jobs.

The Lisburn Northbound Motorway Service Area is located between Sprucefield and Belfast on the M1 Northbound and will be accessible by an average of 30,000 motorists per day.
In addition to a full convenience store, fueling pumps and extensive parking, the Applegreen M1 Lisburn Northbound Motorway Service Area has a food offer that includes Greggs, Burger King, Subway, Chopstix, Lavazza Café and the new Splitz Ice Cream Bar.

The 5.2 acre site is one of the largest Motorway Service Areas in Northern Ireland and boasts an extended seating area and outdoor children’s play area.
Joe Barrett, chief operations officer of Applegreen, said: “I am delighted to announce the opening of our newest Motorway Service Area on the M1, our sixth site in Northern Ireland and a key priority for us is supporting local employment. Established in 1992, Applegreen is a major petrol forecourt retailer in the Republic of Ireland with a significant and growing presence in the United Kingdom, and small presence in the US. The business employs c. 2,900 people, and operates 200 forecourt sites across the UK, Ireland and the US.
