Supervalu’s Spanish & Portuguese wine sale goes live in time for Valentine’s Day
Supervalu’s Spanish and Portuguese Wine sale goes live from 10th February for three weeks, making these wines the perfect pairing for SuperValu’s Valentine’s Meal Deal.
The store has a treat in store for customers looking to wow their other halves with a restaurant quality meal, but with zero fuss, with a dine-in deal that is sure to score highly on convenience, quality and value.
Customers can choose from a selection of gorgeous dishes from their Signature Tastes range: 1 Meal + 2 Sides + 1 Dessert for an unmissable €10 (available from 10th to 16th February).
There is a mouthwatering selection of Irish made dishes and sides to choose from – you can start off your romantic meal with a Signature Tastes Lamb Tagine, a Signature Tastes Butter Chicken, a Signature Tastes Beef Bourguignon or a Signature Tastes Red Thai Chicken Curry followed by a delicious Chocolate, Coffee or Carrot Cake.
Then top it all off with a bottle of Spanish Abellio Albarino or Portuguese Fado Friendship at only €10 each or treat yourself to a bottle of bubbles with Pierre Darcys Brut Champagne 75cl at only €15.

Spanish white wine is growing at 3.5% share with steady interest in the range and Cava is also on the increase as it plays second fiddle to the dominate Prosecco.

La Única IV – This blend is an intense cherry red colour wine, with a garnet edge and long tears. The nose presents red fruits, spices, cedar notes and complex smoked notes. Condado de Oriza Gran Reserva – A powerful and elegant nose with cherry and plum aromas, sandalwood, vanilla and a hint of pepper. Casa de La Ermita Lunatico – Red color garnet wine. In nose it develops intense notes of black mature ripe fruit, balsamic, cocoa, white spices and torrefactos. On the palate it is fresh, mineral, tasty, elegant and balanced. Was €19.99, now €13.39.
Mosaic Priorat – Ruby purple color. Complex aroma with red fruits with a hint of black pepper and vanilla. In the mouth, it has a round and jammy entrance with good freshness and minerality that lasts over time. Long aftertaste with fruit and round tannins. Excellent with roasted meats. Abellio Albarino – Lemon green wine, with golden hues, clear and bright with intense fruit flavor highlighting pear, apple and peach . On the palate it shows an integrated acidity on the whole, thick, and very balanced. The freshness of pome fruit is wrapped by the smoothness of the stone fruit, which gives the whole great harmony, releasing crisp sensations and finishing fresh and clean. Was €14.99, now €10.00.
Fado Friendship Reserva – The wine has a red ruby color, clean nose with aromas of ripe red fruits and forest berries, with some balsamic notes. Marques de Cáceres Rioja Gran Reserva – Deep colour with slightly brick-red rim. Complex bouquet with balsamic and fine wood notes. Marques de Cáceres Rueda Verdejo – Elegant, subtle nose, unveiling the fragrance of white fruits with fine citrus notes. An outburst on the palate, lavish and intense. Five Lagoons Sauvignon Blanc – A pale-yellow colour with greenish glints. Apóstoles Palo Cotado – Apóstoles is dark amber in colour. It is an interesting wine with a elegant and delicate nose similar to an Amontillado with notes of concentrated fruits. However complex and intense on the palate with notes of caramel and mature wood. Was €25, now €15.
