The owner of Supervalu in Togher, Liam Ryan, is celebrating the newly revamped store following a €7.5 million investment.

Ryan’s SuperValu currently employs 85 people and the store revamp will create an additional 20 jobs in Togher and the surrounding areas.

The new look SuperValu offers an extended range of top-quality produce including brand new, expertly led, deli, butcher and fishmonger counters, an expanded bakery range, and Ryan’s own prepared meal range ‘The Supper Pot’.

The state-of-the-art store will also offer a more modern and spacious shopping experience, as well as a much anticipated new in-store café.

Supporting local is of key importance to the team at Ryan’s and customers will be able to purchase an extended range of products from local producers in the Taste of Local area in-store.

As part of the significant store investment, Ryan’s SuperValu has also incorporated a number of sustainability upgrades to enhance the efficiency of the store.

The upgrades include the installation of solar panels, the introduction of LED lighting throughout the store, as well as the installation of energy-efficient refrigeration doors. It is envisaged that these measures will lead to a 60% reduction in energy consumption across the premises by the end of 2023.

Mr Ryan said he and the team are “delighted” to be opening the new-look store after significant investment and much hard work from the team.

“The new state-of-the-art store will be a shining example of the best that SuperValu has to offer and has been designed to be as environmentally friendly as possible,” he said.

“We believe in enhancing local communities by caring for our environment, so we are particularly proud of the dedicated eco-friendly technologies throughout the new store.

“We  are extremely grateful to all our loyal customers who continue to support us in the local community. We look forward to seeing them in store again soon.”
