Greenergy agrees to acquire Amber Petroleum

Greenergy has agreed to purchase 100% of the shares of Amber Petroleum (‘Amber’),  an independent fuel distributor and retailer based in the Republic of Ireland.

Amber’s existing management team and staff will remain in place, expanding Greenergy’s presence in Ireland where it owns Inver Energy.

Chris O’Callaghan, who leads Greenergy’s business in Ireland said:
“It has been our strategy to expand across the fuel supply chain in Ireland since Greenergy entered the market in 2017. The acquisition of such a well-regarded business complements our existing Irish business, Inver Energy, and enables us  to enhance our fuel supply and retail offering to independent retailers and motorists, with a dedicated local team to support them.”

Liam Fitzgerald, owner and Managing Director of Amber Petroleum added:
“Having served our loyal customers for over 40 years Amber’s success has been based on strong relationships with customers, suppliers and staff and we know that Greenergy share these same values. I am confident that Amber will continue to grow its profile as part of the wider Greenergy organisation.”

The transaction is subject to CCPC approval.
