FoodCloud Strengthens Leadership Team as Part of its New Strategic Plan to Accelerate Rollout of Food Waste Solutions Across Europe and Around the World

FoodCloud, the leading non-profit organisation providing technology solutions for food redistribution, has announced significant new appointments to its leadership team to support the rollout of its ambitious strategic plan to help deliver a more equitable, inclusive, and circular food system by 2030.

Sheena Forde has been appointed as Partnerships Director

and Angela Ruttledge as Public Affairs and Stakeholder Manager, with Paula Doherty stepping down from the board to take an active role in managing the innovation strategy for the company.

FoodCloud’s new strategic plan will focus on expansion of its technology platform across Europe and beyond in partnership with international food retailers and food service companies to support their ESG agenda and ensure they stay ahead of EU regulations in line with the EU Commission’s Farm to Fork Strategy and Circular Economy Action Plan. The company is uniquely positioned to help these companies achieve their CSR or ESG goals, providing a powerful tool to reduce food waste and address social and environmental challenges.

FoodCloud’s technology platform, Foodiverse, enables multinational food retailers and food service companies to track and measure ESG and CSR goals, providing detailed data and analytics on the amount of surplus food being redistributed, the number of meals saved, and the impact on the environment, among other metrics.

FoodCloud is marking 10 years since it was founded by Iseult Ward and Aoibheann O’Brien and has gone from strength to strength including its UK launch in 2015 in collaboration with the charity FareShare. The programme began as a pilot project in Tesco stores in Ireland and the UK, with more than 200 million meals distributed since it started, and has expanded its operations to include partnerships with other major retailers, including Aldi, Lidl, M&S, Waitrose, Musgrave and Bookers with foodservice partners including the likes of Nandos and KFC.

FoodCloud are also working with supermarkets in the Czech Republic and Slovakia and have joined the Global FoodBanking Network with funding from Irish Aid to research and pilot their technology solution with African food banks to increase their social and environmental impact.

Iseult Ward, Co-founder and CEO of FoodCloud says: “We are excited to announce these new appointments of such talented people as part of our ambitious strategic plan for future growth across Europe. We believe that our technology platform can help international food retailers and food service companies make a positive impact on society and the environment, while also achieving their ESG and CSR goals. Our vision is for a world where no good food goes to waste. With this announcement, we are one step closer to achieving that vision and building a more equitable, inclusive, and circular food system by 2030.”
