€2.7m investment in Co Wexford Centra will create 12 new jobs

The €2.7m revamp of the Centra store in Ferns will create an additional 12 jobs in the local area. Officially launched on March 15, the store now has an extended range of top-quality produce including the Happy Pear range, Inspired by Centra range, Prepared by Our Butcher range, the Own Brand Centra range, Moo’d Ice-Cream, and Frank & Honest coffee.

The state-of-the-art store also offers a wide range of options and meal solutions for breakfast, lunch and dinner including an improved hot and cold deli counter, while a larger off-licence has been introduced providing an extensive beer, wines, and spirits’ range. Additionally, the store’s new seating area accommodates 25 diners, enhancing the overall dining experience.

The Frank & Honest coffee dock features 100 per cent compostable coffee cups, plastic free coffee capsules and Rainforest Alliance Certified coffee beans. Shoppers can also avail of the gourmet coffee brand’s digital loyalty app enabling customers to get a free coffee with every ten digital stamps.

The store has been serving the local community since 1792, with Patrick Durack and Claire Pierce Durack taking over the reins in November 2016. They have continued the tradition of local support and have worked with many local charities, schools and sports teams, including Ferns Men’s Shed, Fern’s Development Association, the Wexford U-14 camogie development squad, both local national schools in Ferns and the local sports clubs.
