In addition to the incredible fuel offer, Applegreen celebrated its 24/7 birthday by doubling the donations from shop and fuel sales to the company’s four charity partners. The Irish-owned forecourt retailer donated 2c, for every customer transaction on 24th July at no extra cost to the customer, with proceeds going directly into the Applegreen Charitable Fund that partners with Irish Youth Foundation, Enable Ireland, Pieta House and Food Cloud.

Fiona Matthews, Managing Director of Applegreen Ireland said: “24/7 is always one of the highlights of our year and we love putting a smile on our customers’ faces with extra special offers such as this year’s mega fuel sale.

“This year’s celebrations was our biggest yet, with all participating Applegreen locations nationwide reducing the price of fuel at the pumps for 2 hours and 47 minutes,” she said. “A discount of 24.7cent applied to both petrol and diesel including our premium PowerPlus fuel on the day so it was a great opportunity for customers to grab a bargain,” Fiona added.

Applegreen doubles down on charity donation

With huge demand all afternoon in both fuel and in-store sales, Applegreen planned to make the most of the extra footfall by doubling the donations from all customer transactions to the Applegreen Charitable Fund. Currently, the company donates 1 cent for every purchase which goes to charity partners but that will be increased to 2 cent for 24 July.

“The Applegreen Charitable Fund is one of our proudest achievements and we want to make sure our charity partners get a big boost out of our celebrations on 24/7,” said Fiona Matthews of Applegreen. “It’s been such a difficult year for the Irish not-for-profit sector so we’re really happy to do a little extra to help fund the vital services that our charity partners provide.”

Customers also got to feast on lots of special offers including car washes, Slushee’s and Applegreen’s iconic 100% Irish chicken fillet roll and Breakfast roll for just €2.47 each. The store also offered discounted confectionary favourites for just 24 cent, helping families and loyal customers re-fuel for the weekend while filling up at the pumps.
