The GAA and the Gaelic Players Association (GPA) has announced a new three-year partnership with Batchelors, Ireland’s leading baked beans brand, who become the Official Beans Partner of the GAA/GPA.

The partnership brings together two iconic Irish organisations who highly value community. Batchelors have been proudly making Ireland’s favourite baked beans in their Cabra factory in Dublin since 1935, the year the brand’s famous secret sauce was first invented. The factory employs 113 while Batchelors’ parent company Valeo Foods Ireland has a workforce of 494 in Ireland.

Helping to bring the partnership to life at the Croke Park launch today were Kilkenny’s Adrian Mullen, Cavan’s Aishling Sheridan, Waterford’s Niamh Rockett and Meath’s Ruairí Kinsella.

This new partnership strengthens Batchelors links with the GAA community. Batchelors proudly sponsors the Cabra factory’s local club Naomh Fionnbarra, while Matt Gallagher and Declan Bonner, All-Ireland football champions with Donegal in 1992, have both worked with Valeo Foods for over 20 years.

As Ireland’s supreme bean made with the very best ingredients, Batchelors is a simple and wholesome food that can fuel GAA players of all levels and all ages. Bursting with flavour, easy to prepare and rich in both protein and fibre, it’s the ideal meal option for time pressed families and professionals looking to make nutritious and healthy choices between school or work and training, helping deliver support an active healthy lifestyle.

Eimear Gorman, Marketing Director, Valeo Foods said; “Batchelors is incredibly proud to partner with the Gaelic Players Association and the GAA. As Ireland’s number one baked bean brand, Batchelors has been a staple of Irish cupboards for over 90 years, providing families and athletes of all ages and levels with the fuel they need to meet challenges both on and off the pitch.

We know that life has never been busier for Irish families as they juggle work, school, sport and exercise. Through this partnership we will work with intercounty players to showcase how Batchelors can provide quick, wholesome goodness to fuel the whole family no matter what the day brings.”

Tom Parsons, CEO of the GPA said, “It is great to see an Irish brand like Batchelors coming on board to support inter-county players.  On behalf of our members, I thank them for that support and I also want to thank Eimear Gorman and all the team who made today’s announcement possible.”

Peter McKenna, Commercial Director of the GAA said, “We’re delighted to welcome Batchelors into the GAA and GPA family as a commercial partner. Batchelors baked beans are an iconic Irish product, present in family kitchens nationwide for over 90 years. We’re looking forward to working with Batchelors to bring the partnership to life in ways that excite and engage supporters across the country.”

The official partnership logo will feature as part of an exciting support plan across Batchelors, touchpoints in store, online and on social, including competitions for customers to win a range of fantastic GAA prizes.  For more information keep an eye on Batchelors social media channels.
