Weekly wage costs for independent shops not sustainable: RGDATA tells Retail Forum
RGDATA Director Padraig Broderick represented independent grocers at the first Retail Forum chaired by new Retail Minister Alan Dillon. The Croom, Co Limerick shop owner told the Forum the weekly increase in payroll, additional sick leave costs and additional Bank Holiday were costs that a retail business cannot sustain along with all other cost increases associated with running a store.
“Reduce Employers PRSI and VAT on Food To Go, address energy costs and levies and maintain sick pay at the current five days. We badly need these actions to support businesses, jobs and communities,” Padraig Broderick told the Forum.
