Taoiseach acknowledges RGDATA Survey results are shocking

Taoiseach Leo Varadkar has acknowledged the serious issues raised by RGDATA in a Primetime special report on Retail Crime broadcast on Tuesday 21st March.

In the Dáil last week and Minister for Retail Neale Richmond said the issues must be tackled when he chaired The Retail Forum on Wednesday 23 and in the Seanad later that day where the issues were raised by Senator Barry Ward.

RGDATA is actively following up on the survey to ensure that the serious issues highlighted by our members are addressed.

RGDATA is told Government has no plans to fund further commercial rates waivers

RGDATA has received a response to its query (issued to Leo Varadkar when he was Tánaiste & Minister for Enterprise) about Government induced increases in business costs that are impacting on the viability of local shops. This letter from the Department of Housing & Local Government says there are no plans for Government to fund further waivers in commercial rates costs.
