30 new local jobs will be created through new partnership

  • Circle K sites in Kilcullen, Athlone and Gorey welcome first Offbeat Donuts available outside Dublin and Cork
  • Partnership brings first ever interactive concept ‘scratch bakeries’ to Irish forecourts
  • Customers can enjoy Offbeat Donuts at three Circle K sites now

Offbeat Donuts, Ireland’s leading artisan donut brand, has partnered with Circle K to open three brand new scratch bakeries in key forecourt locations across the country. The new bakeries are now open at prime Circle K locations in M9 Kilcullen, M6 Athlone, and M11 Gorey.

At each location, customers can enjoy the full Offbeat experience — watching donuts being baked, topped, and decorated fresh on-site throughout the day. This interactive bakery concept brings Offbeat’s signature range of patisserie-style donuts to life right in front of customers’ eyes.

The Offbeat Donuts bakeries complement the other food offerings available at these busy, high-footfall service stations, which include McDonald’s, Subway, Camile Thai, and Circle K’s own barista coffee, fresh food, and self-serve hot meals. The arrival of Offbeat Donuts will increase the appeal in these popular locations for residents and commuters alike.

A Sweet Partnership, Local Jobs

Each new bakery will create over 10 new jobs locally, bringing Offbeat’s total Irish workforce to over 160 people. The move also signals a strong expansion outside of the brand’s Dublin and Cork base.

Brian O’Casey, Co-Founder of Offbeat Donuts, said: “We are very excited about this opportunity to work with Circle K to bring this new scratch donut bakery concept to market. It showcases what Offbeat Donuts does best – local, artisan, in-store scratch baking with the finishing and topping of the donuts on-site. You can see consumers engaging with the baking process and getting excited when they see their favourite donuts being made in front of them. It’s also fantastic to see Offbeat opening in locations across Ireland outside of Dublin and Cork, bringing our unique Irish offering – as well as jobs – to new regions.”

Ciara Foxton, Managing Director of Circle K Ireland, said: “We’re thrilled to announce our new partnership with Offbeat Donuts, with three scratch bakeries opening at Circle K M9 Kilcullen, M6 Athlone, and M11 Gorey. We’re proud to play a part in Offbeat Donuts’ expansion outside Dublin and Cork and in the process, helping to create thirty new jobs for their business.

“This partnership not only builds on Circle K’s expansive food offering but also reinforces our commitment to supporting Irish businesses and communities nationwide, which is a fantastic follow-on from our recent Guaranteed Irish accreditation.”

Offbeat Donuts

Offbeat Donuts is a 100% Irish, family-run business founded by Brian and Sandra O’Casey. The couple opened their first bakery at Pearse Station, Westland Row in May 2016, with a vision to bring local bakery culture back to the Irish high street through high-quality, patisserie-style donuts.

Since then, the brand has grown to become one of Ireland’s most beloved donut destinations, competing with international giants like Krispy Kreme and Dunkin’ Donuts. Offbeat now operates twelve locations in Dublin, three in Cork, and – through this new partnership – bakeries in Athlone, Kilcullen, and Gorey.

Among their most popular flavours are:

  • Dubai Bar Crunch
  • Hazelnut Rocher
  • Bueno Bueno
  • Apple Crumble
  • Happy Hippo
  • Caramel Crunch
  • And the ever-popular Unicorn Donut

Circle K Kits for Clubs campaign offers grassroots clubs the opportunity to win Circle K sponsored kit worth €30,000

One lucky club will win a VIP meet and greet at an Irish men’s national team training session

Circle K, title sponsor of the FAI Club Mark programme, has launched Kits for Clubs, a competition for grassroots clubs across the country to win new football kits for their teams.

Between now and May 2025, Circle K Kits for Clubs will see 18 lucky clubs each win four brand new sets of Circle K branded kit in their club colours, worth €30,000.  At the end of the competition, one lucky club will win a meet and greet with the players at a men’s national team training session.

This is the latest grassroots football initiative from Circle K, who last year gave €100,000 to clubs across the country as part of their Circle K Grassroots Giveaway. Circle K Kits for Clubs is open to all clubs who are Circle K FAI Club Mark accredited. The Circle K FAI Club Mark programme aims to provide clubs with a road map to good governance, reward clubs for achieving and maintaining high standards, recognise clubs for their commitment and achievements and help grow football in communities across the country.

Kits for Clubs will run in three-week cycles on six regional radio stations across the country (Galway Bay FM, Live 95FM, FM 104, Cork’s 96FM, WLRFM and LMFM) between now and May 2025, with further promotion of the competition taking place at Circle K sites and on social media in each region, giving clubs in all 26 counties the opportunity to enter and win.

On week one of each regional competition, club members will be encouraged to enter by completing a form on the participating station’s website. A random draw will shortlist 10 clubs in week two, and in week three listeners and Circle K store visitors will vote for their shortlisted club, with the top three in each region winning four sets of kit for their teams in their club colours.

In May, one club from all those that enter will be selected to win the grand prize of the VIP training session and meet and greet with the Irish men’s national team.

Circle K Kits for Clubs kicks off on Galway Bay FM. From October 7th, clubs in Galway will have three weeks to enter. The competition will be promoted in Circle K stores across Connacht and in Donegal, as well as on Circle K’s social media channels.

The stations, participating counties, and dates for the Circle K Kits for Clubs competition are as follows:

Station Participating Counties Dates
Galway Bay FM Galway, Mayo, Sligo, Roscommon, Leitrim, Donegal 7th to 27th October
Live 95FM Limerick, Clare, Tipperary 4th to 24th November

WLR FM Waterford, Kilkenny, Wexford, Clare 3rd to 23rd March 2025
LMFM Louth, Meath, Monaghan, Cavan, Longford, Westmeath 31st March to 20th April 2025

Club members are encouraged to mark the dates in their diary to make sure they don’t miss the opportunity to win for their clubs, and to follow Circle K’s social media channels for timely reminders to enter. Full terms and conditions for entry will be hosted on the relevant radio station website.

Ciara Foxton, Managing Director of Circle K Ireland said: “Circle K is very proud to play a role in supporting grassroots football through our partnership with the FAI. Following on from the huge success of our Grassroots Giveaway initiative last year, we’re very excited to announce Circle K Kits for Clubs. Not only will it offer clubs the chance to win fabulous new kits, but one lucky club will win the opportunity to watch a training session and meet with the Irish men’s national team.”

Ger McDermott, FAI Grassroots Director added: The pride and enjoyment that pulling on your club jersey brings is the most important part of a player’s experience in our game. This great initiative from Circle K will help clubs to bring that to our game. With over 70% of our clubs on the journey to achieving their Club Mark Award, the programme continues to grow thanks to the partnership with Circle K.”

and their customers and want to extend a big thank you to all involved in this wonderful initiative. Jack and Jill currently supports over 400 families in communities across Ireland. Often described as ‘a gift of time’ or a ‘lifeline’, this support gives parent carers a break from their 24/7 care regime, safe in the knowledge that their child is well cared for at home, where they belong. ‘When you Fill, Support Jack and Jill’ is a fantastic way for people to help us raise funds to keep this service going. .
