Circle K, Ireland’s leading forecourt and convenience retailer, is celebrating the reopening of its newly upgraded Glasnevin store following an investment of almost €250,000 in the site.

To mark the reopening and welcome customers to the upgraded store, Circle K is running a series of special promotions from 14 August to 21 August. Circle K Extra members can enjoy exclusive offers including 5c off per litre of fuel, €2.50 dispensed drinks, a €3 Chicken Fillet Roll and a free Pepsi or Red Bull with any sandwich.

The investment reinforces Circle K’s ongoing commitment to enhancing its retail network and providing customers with greater choice, convenience and value. The redevelopment has also retained the existing store team, supporting continued employment in the local Glasnevin community.

Customers visiting the upgraded Circle K Glasnevin store can now enjoy a new deli offering, providing an enhanced range of food-to-go options throughout the day. The store’s drinks offering has also been expanded, with a wider variety of functional beverages including fibre-infused sparkling sodas, vitamin-enhanced waters and matcha drinks, alongside a broader confectionery and snacks range.

The wider retail offering has also been enhanced with the addition of a new off-licence, giving customers greater choice and further strengthening the range of products and services available at the Glasnevin store. The store is also now open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, providing even greater convenience for local residents, commuters and motorists travelling through the area.

Further investment is also planned in EV facilities at the Glasnevin site, further enhancing the customer experience and supporting the evolving needs of motorists.

The upgraded store has been designed to better meet the everyday needs of the local community, bringing together an expanded food and beverage range, everyday essentials and greater value in one convenient location.

The significant investment spans improvements to both the store and forecourt, introducing an enhanced food and beverage offering and new services for motorists while creating a more modern and convenient experience for customers visiting the site.

All 14 existing roles at Circle K Ballina have been retained as part of the redevelopment.

Customers visiting the refurbished Ballina store can enjoy an enhanced food offering, including an expanded hot and cold grab-and-go range, an enhanced bakery offering and an enhanced coffee experience, with a broader choice of customer favourites and speciality options such as matcha.

The forecourt has also undergone significant improvements, including the installation of a new AdBlue pump and the addition of Ballina’s only brush wash facility, complete with a premium Ultimate wash programme.

Open 24/7 and available to all customers, the enhanced site further strengthens Circle K Ballina’s position as a convenient one-stop destination for motorists.

The refurbishment reinforces Circle K’s ongoing commitment to investing in its retail network while providing customers with more choice, greater convenience, and improved value.

Mr Dixon brings more than 20 years of retail and commercial leadership experience to the role, including nine years with Circle K Ireland, where he has progressed through a series of increasingly senior leadership positions spanning operations, retail execution and commercial growth.

Most recently, as Business-to-Business, Mobility and Sales (BMS) Director, he led Circle K Ireland’s commercial business, including its network of independently operated Circle K locations, fuel card services and bulk fuel supply operations.

From 2019 until joining the BMS team in 2025, Mr Dixon served as Retail Director of Operations, with responsibility for Circle K’s 170 company-operated locations across Ireland. In that role, he played a key role in driving operational excellence, efficiency and business performance, while building strong, high-performing teams.

Mr Dixon succeeds Ciara Foxton, who has been promoted to Senior Vice President, Operations for Circle K Mid-Europe & Asia.

As the official coffee partner of Darkness Into Light 2026, Circle K is supporting the tens of thousands of people who will take part in the early morning walk, coming together in hope, remembrance and solidarity with those impacted by suicide and self-harm.

Darkness Into Light, proudly supported by Electric Ireland, is one of Ireland’s largest and most impactful fundraising initiatives. Last year, 80,000 people across 200 walks raised €4 million to support Pieta’s free, life-saving services. This year, more than 100,000 people are expected to take part in more than 150 locations nationwide, many of them close to Circle K stores.

While the event is a powerful moment of togetherness and hope, it also reflects the very real and ongoing impact of suicide and self-harm across Ireland. Each year, around 500 people lose their lives to suicide, and one in five people will experience suicidal thoughts in their lifetime. The impact extends far beyond the individual, with a single suicide affecting up to 135 people, including families, friends and entire communities.

Pieta continues to provide critical support to those who need it most, responding to over 100,000 crisis calls and texts last year. Importantly, every 2km walked can help fund one life-saving call to Pieta’s crisis helpline, meaning every step taken by participants has a direct impact.

This significant redevelopment forms part of Circle K’s ongoing commitment to enhancing its retail network and reinvesting in local areas across Ireland. Located along the Enniskerry Road, the newly revamped Kilternan store has been carefully designed to meet the evolving needs of a growing local community.

As part of the refurbishment, Circle K has invested €380,000 in EV infrastructure, reflecting its commitment to meeting evolving customer needs while supporting the transition to lower‑emission transport in Ireland. The new forecourt in Kilternan will have four EV chargers including two high powered EV chargers.

The Kilternan site now offers a brighter, more intuitive store layout and an expanded food experience, featuring a full hot and cold deli, an extended grab‑and‑go selection, and an enhanced in‑store bakery. Customers can also enjoy a broader off‑licence range, alongside improved coffee service with additional machines designed to keep queues moving smoothly, even during peak times.

The transition to the new Circle K store has been completed with no disruption to customers or staff, with all existing roles retained. The store continues to be managed by its experienced local manager and team, ensuring continuity and familiarity for the community.
