First M&S store in Ireland to launch new-look foodhall

Marks & Spencer Abbeycentre has announced it will unveil its transformed foodhall, showcasing a brand-new look and shopping experience for customers, just in time for Christmas.

The M&S store is one of three in the UK and the first in Ireland to receive this revamp and doors to the new-look Foodhall will open on Wednesday, December 4.

M&S Abbeycentre store manager, Colin McGreevy and his team of colleagues will be joined by Marks & Spencer’s very own Percy and Penny Pig and the P3 class from local primary school, St Therese of Lisieux, will be singing for customers.

M&S Abbeycentre has recruited 90 colleagues to join its team, which includes offering new roles to existing M&S colleagues, as well as creating jobs for the local community.

Colin McGreevy said: “There is a real buzz locally around the new-look Foodhall opening and I want to thank our customers for being so patient during the refurbishment. The team has been working so hard to get ready for the unveiling of our bigger, better, fresher store in time for Christmas and we hope to see the local community turn out to support us on the day.”

The first 200 customers to arrive when the store opens on 4 December are in for a treat as 200 Golden Tickets will be handed out giving them a chance of receiving a £200 gift card. Other prizes include two £100 gift cards, as well as £20 and £5* off vouchers to use towards in-store shops.

Colin continued: “We’ll be celebrating with some festive in-store tastings from our local suppliers and to add to the excitement our first 200 customers will be offered the chance to win some treats to mark the occasion. We look forward to welcoming our loyal and new customers and can’t wait to show them the fantastic new features and products we have in-store.”
