Ireland’s Grocery Benevolent Fund partners the Summit 2016

The Summit takes place in the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in Dublin on September 15, 2016.

Irish Grocers New LogoThe IGBF currently assists some 300 families and individuals in the retail industry on a monthly basis, and contributes over €650,000 annually on welfare support.

Last year, IGBF partnered the annual Ireland’s Forecourt & Convenience Retailer Awards, with the attendees from the cream of Irish retail raising an incredible €4,865 for the charity.

This year’s awards conclude a daylong conference featuring international speakers and cutting-edge trade exhibition under the umbrella of the Summit 2016.

Much of the anticipation revolves around the appearance of the unique event’s keynote speaker – Rugby legend and All Black superstar, Sean Fitzpatrick.

The event’s overall sponsor is Nestle Professional, while the Award’s category sponsors include Dairyglen, Philip Morris Limited, FIFO, JTI Ireland, Revolution, Costa Express, Lindt, PetroCourt, Supermac’s, Bord Na Mona, and Eurotank.

The Sunday Business Post has already come aboard as official media partner, while the Irish Grocers Benevolent Fund (IGBF) has now been added as the event’s official charity.

IGBF chairman Donal O’Shea said: “Last year’s event was incredibly successful, so we had no hesitation in getting involved in this year’s awards. Meanwhile, the Summit 2016 presents a unique opportunity for the charity and the local grocery industry, so we are delighted to be involved.”

Bill Penton, publisher of Ireland’s Forecourt & Convenience Retailer magazine and organiser of the event, said the Summit 2016 was set to be a unique experience and would spur on the already accelerating pace of change and innovation in Irish retail.

He said: “This will be a huge opportunity for everyone in the grocery retail industry, and will be unrivalled for its scope and content.”

Adding his support, COO of Applegreen Joe Barrett said: “The forecourt industry is fast paced and exciting, so taking time out for The Ireland’s Forecourt & Convenience Summit 2016 will be a worthwhile and valuable experience, and its one we’re very much looking forward to.”
