IGBF partner with Ireland’s Convenience Retailer Summit

Ireland’s Grocery Benevolent Fund (IGBF) has been revealed as the charity partner for the Ireland’s Convenience Retailer Summit.

The event takes place in the Clayton Hotel Burlington Road, Dublin on September 6, 2017.

It is the third year the charity has partnered with the Ireland’s Forecourt & Convenience Retailer Awards, which this year forms part of the landmark Ireland’s Convenience Retailer Summit 2017.

IGBF currently assists some 300 families and individuals in the retail industry on a monthly basis, and contributes over €650,000 annually on welfare support.

Last year, awards attendees drawn from the cream of Irish retail raised an incredible €4,000 for the charity.

This year’s awards will conclude a daylong landmark conference featuring global leaders in convenience retailing, along with a cutting-edge Trade Exhibition under the umbrella of the Ireland’s Convenience Retailer Summit.

Entries for the awards have once again flooded in from Ireland’s best convenience retailers and forecourts as the closing date for entries of June 12 quickly approaches.

Commenting on the awards, IGBF chairman Donal O’Shea said: “We’re very much looking forward to this year’s awards. Last year’s event was a huge success. Meanwhile, the Ireland’s Convenience Retailer Summit presents a unique opportunity for the charity and the local grocery industry, so we are delighted to be involved.”

The Sunday Business Post has already come aboard as official media partner, while the event has won the support of RGDATA and Retail NI among many others.

Bill Penton, publisher of Penton Publications, the team behind Ireland’s Convenience Retailer Summit, said the event would be a unique experience that will spur on the already accelerating pace of change and innovation in Irish retail.

He said: “This will be a huge opportunity for everyone in the grocery retail industry, and will be unrivalled for its scope and content. IGBF is a superb charity and we are delighted to once again partner with them for our prestigious awards.

“This is a charity that carries out very important work for many families and individuals involved in Ireland’s retail sector and we applaud their vital cause.

“We’re honoured to welcome them on-board as we continue preparations for the landmark Summit taking place in September.”
