Fundraising Maxol awash with wishes

The Maxol Group has raised €15,000 for Make-A-Wish Ireland following its “Wash for Wishes” carwash week initiative.

The October total represents a 50 per cent increase on last year, and was the third ‘Wash for Wishes’ campaign organised by the fuel brand.

The funds raised will help Make-A-Wish reach its 2015 target of granting 175 wishes, itself a 29 per cent increase on last year.

Fergal Harrington, group brand development manager, said: “We are over the moon with this result and the success of the initiative and are again overwhelmed by the generosity of our customers.

“The total means Maxol is close to reaching €200,000 in funds raised for Make-A-Wish. We are very proud of this phenomenal achievement.”

Susan O’Dwyer, CEO of Make-A-Wish Ireland added: “This really does make an enormous difference to a number of children living with a life-threatening medical condition by helping us to continue granting wishes.”
