More Dealer Success For Applegreen

Now in its 22nd year of operation Applegreen has continued to expand in size as well as branching into new business ventures.

Since its inception in 1992, Petrogas Global Ltd has successfully opened almost 90 service stations across Ireland.

The company is also expanding its network in the UK, and now has more than 50 service stations trading in this market.

The Applegreen brand is constantly evolving and recently Applegreen entered the Dealer market which will allow independent retailers access to the Applegreen brand.

Applegreen is also expanding its operations further afield with the recent opening of two service stations in Long Island, New Jersey, USA.

The Applegreen Dealer business was launched in early 2014 and is going from strength to strength. There are now eight Applegreen Dealer sites open and the company is very confident about the prospects for its Dealer Business in 2015.

The latest retailer to decide to join the Applegreen brand as a dealer is John Mullin. John operates two service stations, one at Pearse Road in Sligo and one in Manorhamilton.

Both sites have recently been re-branded Applegreen.

These sites are the company’s first branded sites in counties Sligo and Leitrim. Furthermore they also represent another milestone for Applegreen and they are the first sites that the company has branded in Connaught.

John had a lot of interest from various fuel companies and he spent time looking at the merits of each while considering what fuel company to partner with. John commented: “I was interested in branding my stations with a new image and I spoke to many of the fuel companies about what they could bring to the table.”

“What I was really looking for was a fuel partner and Applegreen seemed to fit the bill the best.”

After researching the fuel market, John decided that the Applegreen’s ‘Low fuel prices, always’ commitment was a message he believed consistent with the value message he wants to promote in his stores.

He is delighted with the standard and quality of branding that Applegreen brings to his forecourt. He commented:

“Every time I visited an Applegreen site I could see how busy it was. I particularly liked the fact that it promoted its business with the slogan ‘Low fuel prices, always’.  I believe that this value message to the customer is aligned to the message

of quality and value that I strive to achieve for my customers in Sligo and Manorhamilton.”

Although it’s early days, John has already noticed a definite increase in footfall into his site.

He said: “Our fuel volumes are showing over 60 per cent increase on the corresponding period last year in one site and the volume has actually doubled in the other site. This is beyond my expectations and this volume uplift has given a tremendous boost to the shop businesses in both sites. I have noticed that our shop sales have also increased particularly in the hot beverage, food and impulse categories.”
